Here in this series — Occam’s Razor — we layed out a way to enumerate
all perfect squares >=9 using merely addition and subtraction. I’ve
further refined and simplified the equation since then, but I’m just now
getting around to publishing the final, polished formula.
x^2 = (x-1)^2 + x + x – 1
The above is probably as easy and intuitive as it’s going to get.
