On The Problem of (Good and) Evil

On The Problem of (Good and) Evil

The skeptics and critics of monotheism always proclaim that a
loving God and Goddess would never allow for evil to exist in
their creation. I claim the opposite. God and Goddess allow
for Evil in their World for a number of reasons. Without Evil
there is no Good. Good and Evil are generally measured as
contrasts, so one must imply/necessitate the other. Having
things that one likes or even loves is very important for
one’s enjoyment and motivation. If you always felt sublime,
you probably wouldn’t be motivated to interact and enjoy the
World the way you could otherwise. If you hated nothing,
you wouldn’t love the things you love right now anywhere near
as much. Good and Evil allows for Hedonism. Even God and
Goddess are subject to Good and Evil, seeing as how
there is sin in the world. They too are subjected to the
impetus to improve and strive for things, as their desire
behooves them.

I leave you with the following: Hate allows for Love.
Evil allows for Good. In the end, all things are as they
should be.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the reverie, and may many more come
to follow. Happy prayers!
